Joe HalprinJoseph Halprin is a global legal expert with deep business experience in Fortune 500 and startup entities. He has dedicated the past three decades to providing in-house counsel to some of the world’s biggest names, as well as to roles at early-stage companies. Mr. Halprin leverages his extensive experience in legal, compliance, and risk management to help clients fuel the development, implementation, and distribution of a broad array of high-impact products, services, and strategic initiatives that create value and deliver measurable results, while supporting calculated decisions based on risk and reward. Mr. Halprin currently focuses on providing fractional general counsel support to mature and startup entities across various sectors, advising on a comprehensive array of issues, including strategic transactions, IP strategies, and general commercial and corporate matters.

Before reverting to private practice, Mr. Halprin most recently served as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary at a fintech focused on underbanked consumers and the disbursement of funds from municipalities, nonprofits, and for-profit entities. Before that, Mr. Halprin served as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Mastercard in global roles for close to 20 years, managing teams and supporting the development and distribution of products and services worldwide, including credit, debit, prepaid, program management, processing, data, marketing, and consulting services. Prior to Mastercard, Mr. Halprin worked in-house at AT&T and at a start-up in the deregulated energy space. He began his legal career at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP in the Santa Monica Office.

Mr. Halprin received his undergraduate (Wharton School & the School of Arts & Sciences) and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and 1991, respectively. Mr. Halprin is an active member of the New York State Bar.
