Lori C. Hershorin

Lori Carver Hershorin is a trial attorney. She has successfully tried numerous cases in state and federal courts and prevailed in over 40 appeals. Her practice includes litigating escrow, real property, title insurance claims, title insurance bad faith lawsuits, and appeals, and providing title insurance advice and coverage opinions. Escrow companies and title insurers regularly engage her for escrow and title matters. Ms. Hershorin has successfully handled thousands of interpleader actions for her clients over the past 30+ years.
In 1991, Ms. Hershorin began her legal career at McDermott, Will & Emery focusing on fraud, contract, employment, and real property matters. She subsequently joined Lewis, D’Amato, Brisbois & Bisgaard where she focuses mortgage fraud, real estate, and breach of contract litigation.
In 1995, Ms. Hershorin joined the legal department of Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, as an Assistant Vice-President and Associate Counsel. From 1995-2000, Ms. Hershorin litigated hundreds of escrow disputes, title issues, real property matters, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, insurance bad faith, breach of contract, and complex business and partnership disputes. In 2000, Ms. Hershorin was promoted to Vice-President, Senior Litigation Counsel and Litigation Manager for the Southwestern Region of Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, supervising a team of experienced litigation attorneys. While continuing with her litigation practice in real estate, title, escrow, insurance bad faith, and business disputes, Ms. Hershorin assumed responsibility for the litigation departments in Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada, interfacing with claims attorneys, developing and controlling budgets, collaborating with upper management on litigation matters, and advising title and escrow operations.
Since 2003, Ms. Hershorin has been Managing Partner of Hershorin & Henry, LLP. She serves as legal counsel to title insurers, large corporations, lenders, escrow companies, businesses, and individuals.
In 2010 and 2011, the National Association of Professional Women named Ms. Hershorin “Woman of the Year.” In 2018, The New York Times named her as a top 100 lawyer in the United States. In 2019 and 2020, Lawyers of Distinction recognized for her outstanding work and dedication to her profession.
In 1986, Ms. Hershorin earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University and in 1991, her Juris Doctor from the McKinney School of Law. She was a member and Note Development Editor of the Indiana Law Review, and a member of the Order of Barristers. In 1991, Ms. Hershorin was admitted to practice in California and Indiana and in 2015, became a member of the Texas Bar.
